HardRock Maldives is located just 25 minutes by speedboat from Male International Airport. With its convenient location, guests who arrive anytime of the day can easily get to the island and relax after their international flight. HardRock Maldives is one of the very first island resorts that is part of a multi-island project named Crossroad Maldives, where up to 9 islands will be sharing their facilities, restaurants, and guests are allowed to travel between these islands to experience and enjoy different amenities and beaches! On top of that, there is also an island called The Marina, it is the very first island in the Maldives that dedicates the entire island to shops, restaurants, spa, and entertainments (there’s even a beach club)! At the moment, HardRock Maldives, along with The Marina and Saii Lagoon (the sister property) is part of the initial 3 islands that are connected by 2 bridges making it super convenient! As for the rest of the additional islands, many of them are still under planning, the rest of the islands will be more spread out and can only be accessible by boats.

Accommodations + Service
HardRock Maldives definitely kept some of the signature features of the HardRock brand when it comes to designing the island, the guitar symbol is highlighted in many areas all throughout the resort and inside the accommodations, including details on the bedsheets, tints on the sliding doors, etc…

One of my favorite aspect at the HardRock Maldives is that there are many different room categories that you don’t normally see at other island resorts, and the lowest category rooms are very affordable considering it’s a 5 stars resorts with all the amenities and services. The entry level rooms are Silver Sky Studio (upstairs with balcony views), and Silver Beach Studio, ground floor with direct access to the beach, all the rooms can fit up to 3 adults. These are actually perfect accommodations for guests traveling in large groups!

Over the years, Maldives has evolved from being known as the Honeymoon destination to now for families and friends, and even solo travelers! Here at HardRock Maldives, there’s a really strong kids clubs program, so it really caters to families and large parties. Many island resorts only give the option of getting either a two bedroom villa, a 2nd bedroom, or adding extra beddings (normally just 1 extra bed), but here at HardRock Maldives there are multiple options for accommodating larger parties. For families with multiple children, especially younger kids, there is a room type called the - Silver Family Suite Duplex. It is a beach front duplex that can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children! Families can have a good time with ample space for the parents at the bottom floor, and kids can have their fun space upstairs (up to 3-4 kids) with their own individual TV and separate bathroom.

Besides the more affordable options, there are also private stand alone villas: Gold Beach Villas, Platinum Overwater Villas, Platinum Overwater Pool Villas, Rock Royalty Overwater Pool Villas (2 bedrooms), and the famous RockStar Villa! The luxury RockStar Villa features its own private boat docking, an outdoor tuk tuk bar, Jukebox, and many fun decorative elements that makes up the “ROCKSTAR” experience at HardRock Maldives.

Activities
Besides having 2 extra islands to explore here at HardRock, there are plenty of activities for guests to participate, ranging from fitness to excursions! The water sports center featuring all sorts of excursions and activities is located at the Marina, also where the Marine Discovery Center is. Guests are welcome to learn more about the Marine lives in the Maldives, and participate in a Coral restoration program at no charge.

One unique feature here at the Marina is the Museum - it is the only island resorts in the Maldives that features a large and informative space that talks about the culture, history of Maldives - how the thousand islands are formed, etc… Many of the informations are presented in a fun, story format, and on large touch screens, so it is very up to date, lively, and interesting for all age group to be educated.

Most of all the group activities that take place on the islands are free of charge except for private lessons, guests can find the timetable of all the activities online. Besides the typical fitness lesson like Yoga, Pool Games, Stretch Classes, Beach Volleyball, etc… The activity center also offer classes like Aqua Aerobics, Self Defence, Kickboxing, and even Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!

Rock Spa, where music and magic come together, it’s a place where treatment puts a musical twist on classic head to toes treatments. There are many different types of innovative treatments, including the world’s first fully immersive music-centric spa menu that utilizes amplified vibration, pressure, and patterns as the foundation of its treatments. And there are a whole set of different massage types, facials, couples treatments, and even treatments for young kids from age 3 - 12!

Restaurants and Bars
Guests can choose Half Board, Full Board, and All Inclusive package - and there are a decent range of restaurants to choose from as the resort shares all the restaurants with Saii Lagoon and The Marina! Below are the restaurants that belongs to Hard Rock Maldives, you can check out my blog on The Marina and Saii Lagoon for the rest of the dining outlets.

  • Hard Rock Cafe, the iconic Hard Rock Cafe is a must at a Hard Rock property, located at the Marina oceanfront, it includes all the Hard Rock’s classical items. Opens for lunch and dinner, and often times there are live music at night at the bar and it opens till 30 mins after midnight.

  • Sessions, one of the breakfast locations that guests from both islands can enjoy, serving both a la carte and buffet style at breakfast that features international cuisines around the world. It is also open throughout the day with an a la carte menu that features daily specials and small bites and a good range of international favorites.

  • The Elephant and Butterfly, opens for lunch and dinner, rooted in Mexico and inspired by Latin American, guests can indulge in local ceviche and tiradito with fresh guacamole!

  • Pool Bar, love the beautiful design at this pool bar by the main infinity pool, the decorations are colorful and vibrant that matches the theme of the main areas. Part of the bar is also submerged at the pool so there’s a swim up feature with underwater stools.
